When you have a wedding, it’s 100% guaranteed your guests will take cameras and use them during the wedding. This is inevitable, but sometimes the guests’ cameras interrupt that of the hired photographer.

Here’s an example from yesterday’s wedding as the Bride walks down the aisle.

On the left is the image recorded to my camera. Two flashes overlap onto the same bride and we get a blown out picture. On the right is the image rescued by post processing in Adobe Lightroom with the use of a couple sliders. This result would not have been as easy if I shot in JPEG instead of RAW.

So, last weekend was my first back-to-back-to-back string of weddings: Friday the 22nd to Sunday the 24th. Each wedding began as early as 8am, and ended as late as 10pm.

Surprisingly, my shutter finger and right hand weren’t dead at the end of it all, and I could still walk from my car to my bed Sunday night. I guess all that training for the Seattle marathon is paying off in ways most wouldn’t expect.
